Google employee Gary Illyes in a Twitter Tweet 24 July has confirmed Google Panda 4.2 Update, which was rolled out on the weekend 18/19 July 2015.

The Panda algorithm update was last rolled out September/October 2014 and as we all know is way overdue for a re-run. Until date, very few Webmasters have reported signs of increase or drop in rankings, which I assume would only reflect once all pages are crawled.

@rustybrick from has however reported over 30% increase in rankings. SeroundTable lost over 30% of its rankings 25 September 2014 when it was filtered by the Panda algorithm.

Pre-Panda 4.2 refresh, Webmasters like myself noticed a Juggle in the search results, but Google denied it was Panda related. An update that’s real-time and takes so long to roll-out will make interpretation extremely difficult and won’t be noticed immediately. The Panda update is site-wide and not per-page so the site will only see a ranking change once all pages have been crawled, which as Gary stated, could take months.

I see no changes, and neither any changes on any of my client's sites.

Panda Algorithm 4.2 – 1 August 2015 Update

John Mueller in one of his hangout videos has confirmed technical issues from there side with regards to Panda running slow.

John has also assured Webmasters that the slow roll-out was not meant to confuse them, stating it is due to technical reasons from there side, an internal issue.

This is actually, pretty much a similar update to before. For technical reasons we are rolling it out a bit slower. It is not that we are trying to confuse people with this. It is really just for technical reasons.

John also confirmed that the algorithms main aim is to recognizance higher quality sites as well as low-quality sites. So I assume they will be targeting thin pages as well as copy.

We are crawling and indexing normal, and we are using that content as well to recognize higher quality and lower quality sites. But we are rolling out this information in a slower way. Mostly for technical reasons.

All sites affected by last years update had to wait 10 months for Panda 4.2 roll-out, with very few sites reporting a change in rankings. The Panda and Penguin algorithm filters are like a jail sentence and can cripple businesses that are reliant on Google search.
